Michael Carline
Born in the UK, Yorkshire England, Michael grew up in a very musical and talented family. His father, Geoff Carline was a well known local musician along with his uncle Frank Carline a vocalist. They both played guitar too and as a child Michael grew up listening to a household filled with music and guitar jam sessions. He first picked up a guitar at the age of six and his father was astonished to see Michael playing a Chuck Berry music riff. At age 17 he discovered and fell in love with blues music through the likes of blues legends BB King and Albert King, which then inspired him to study guitar more seriously. Michael went on to do roadie work for his dad’s band. Watching his dad perform was also his biggest influence for guitar playing. Eventually he formed his own blues band called Cold Shot and regularly got gigs in the Yorkshire area. He moved to Australia at age 30 and since then has played in various bands and got gigs as a soloist. Michael is well known in the Sydney Blue Society jam sessions and is respected for his tasteful and dynamic guitar playing. He is the perfect fit for BLUESONIC.
